Mangaluru: SJEC to organize human chain to raise awareness on '1098' on Nov 15

Mangaluru, Nov 14: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, in association with Young Indians (CII), is set to organize a Human Chain to raise awareness about the national Child Helpline Number - 1098. The event will take place on Friday, November 15, beginning at 11:00 am. This initiative is part of SJEC’s ongoing commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.

A total of 1,098 students from SJEC will form the Human Chain, symbolically representing the helpline number 1098, which is dedicated to assisting children in distress. The chain will extend from Vamanjoor Junction to Pilikula Circle, with participants lining both sides of the road to maximize visibility and outreach.

The Human Chain aims to promote public awareness about the importance of the Child Helpline, a critical resource for the protection of children and the provision of timely assistance for those in need. SJEC and Young Indians (CII) hope this event will bring the Child Helpline Number - 1098 to the forefront, encouraging the community to support child welfare initiatives and fostering a safer environment for children.
