Mangalore, Dec 13: In connection with the attempt to murder Ravindra, an activist of Bajrang Dal and rickshaw driver from Gurpur, the policemen made two more arrests on Monday December 12. With this, the number of persons arrested in the case has risen to seven.
The arrested men have been identified as Imran (23) residing near Ullal Dargah here, and Ellyas alias Ishaq (34) from Sundari Baug Ullal. They were arrested by a team led by Bajpe police inspector, Dinakar Shetty, and Panambur station police inspector, Valentine D’Souza. Reportedly, they were taken into custody on Monday when they had arrived at the railway station here for travelling to Goa. It is said that these two accused had been sheltered in C M Madavoor mosque in Kozhikode, Kerala till now.
Out of the two, Imran is an accused in the murder case relating to Lancy, a rickshaw driver from Tokkottu. He also was part of gangs which were engaged in robbery and murder attempts. Ellyas faces eight cases so far including robbery and murder attempt. Two swords were taken into possession from the accused.
The policemen said they are on the look out for some more accused, who have been absconding.
