Mangaluru: Seminar on human trafficking, cyber-crime organised by Bandhavya

Mangaluru, Nov 22: Bandhavya, in association with CODP, organised a thought-provoking seminar on human trafficking and cyber-crime in CODP Mother Theresa Hall on November 22. This seminar aimed to raise awareness about the growing concerns of human trafficking and cybercrime, promoting a safer and more informed community.

Fr Siby Devassy, chairperson of Bandhavya, warmly welcomed the gathering and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Fr Vincent D’Souza, secretary of Bandhavya for his visionary initiative and exemplary leadership in organising the seminar on human trafficking and cyber-crime. He also extended his gratitude to the partner NGO's of Bandhavya for their enthusiastic support and active participation in making the seminar a resounding success.

Expert resource persons Shukaraj Kottary - district defense counsel, Prof Sarik Ankita - HoD of criminology department, School of Social Work Roshini Nilaya and Gopal Krishna, ASI ISD shared insightful information on human trafficking, cyber-crime and online safety.

Discussions focused on prevention strategies, reporting mechanisms, and support services for victims. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, raising concerns about their neighborhood and discussed preventive measures for a safer community.

The programme was compered by Sr Leena D'Costa, vice-chairperson of Bandhavya, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sr Janet Cutinha, staff of Patrao Hospital Puttur.

As many as 65 participants benefited from informative sessions on women and children's laws, equipping them with valuable knowledge on their rights and protection. The eventful morning concluded with a delicious lunch, providing a wonderful opportunity for networking and reflection.
