Karkala, Dec 14: It is believed that the policemen have taken four suspects into custody relating to the brutal murder of Banglegudde Sulaiman. The body of Sulaiman, a well-known rowdy sheeter, was found lying in forest area near Palli on Moodubelle-Karkala Road on Saturday December 10 with several injury marks. Sulaiman’s role was suspected in the killing of Polali Anantu, Candle Santu, Hussain from Karkala Kabettu, and eight other cases including extortion rackets.

Sulaiman was reportedly killed with the help of a machete by a five-member gang which included a woman. It is suspected that Sulaiman was invited to a secluded spot with the help of one of his friends in the name of discussion relating to compromise relating to a marriage. The killing is thought to have been executed to avenge the murder of Candle Santu and Polali Anantu.

The arrested men are said to have accompanied the woman to the murder spot in a car. It is gathered that the woman in question and Sulaiman’s friend are yet to be nabbed. The policemen, when approached, dismissed news of arrest as speculative.
