Bantwal, Nov 24: In a unique twist to traditional invitation cards, Sumanth Acharya, a graphic artist from Mani in Bantwal, has captured attention by designing his wife Shamitah’s 'Seemanta' ceremony (pregnancy ritual or baby shower ceremony) invite in the shape of a banana leaf.
The eye-catching design features traditional elements like turmeric kumkum, floral motifs, and a warm invitation reading, "Come for the Pumsavana Seemantonnayan."
Sumanth, who runs a printing house in Puttur, created this one-of-a-kind design at Aarvi Intergraphics, blending creativity with cultural symbolism. The banana leaf invitation now joins a growing collection of traditional designs, including coconut, betel leaf, and areca nut, adding a fresh touch to an age-old tradition.
The new design has quickly gained popularity, drawing praise for its innovation and cultural relevance.
