Mangaluru: Winter makes its presence felt in coastal region

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Nov 29: The coastal region has been experiencing an increase in early morning chill over the past few days, accompanied by fluctuations in daytime temperatures.

Last year, winter patterns were disrupted due to prolonged post-monsoon rains. The shortened post-monsoon season left the upper crust of the earth with reduced moisture, causing summer to begin earlier than usual and extend for an unusually long duration.

In recent days, the maximum temperature in the city has been fluctuating. On Thursday, Panambur recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5°C. From November 22 to November 28, the maximum temperatures recorded at Panambur were 32.2°C, 34.6°C, 33.9°C, 33.3°C, 33.8°C, 32.4°C, and 33.3°C. According to officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures are expected to decrease further in the coming days.

The IMD has also forecast the possibility of rainfall in certain parts of the coastal region on December 1 and 2.
