Mangaluru, Nov 29: The annual sports day of SCS Preschool, SCS Riverside Campus, Long Lane, Urwa, was held on the November 29. The chief guest, U K Khalid, the administrative officer of SCS Group of Institutions, was escorted by the principal of the preschool Vinaya D’Souza and other dignitaries. He was welcomed with a guard of honour by the students of the preschool, showcasing their respect and enthusiasm for the event.
The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by the hoisting of the school flag by the chief guest. This was followed by an impressive march past. U K Khalid, the chief guest, officially declared the sports day open by blowing bubbles, symbolizing the school’s commitment to its green initiative. He then lit the sports torch, representing the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Next, a mass drill was performed by all the students, showcasing their coordination and discipline. This was followed by a vibrant display of various drills executed by the students. After the formal proceedings, a series of games for the dignitaries were organized, allowing them to relive their youthful days, and bringing out the child in everyone present.
The student sports events were held soon after, with enthusiastic participation by all the students. Prizes were awarded to the winners, recognizing their achievements and efforts. The event concluded with the students singing the national anthem, a powerful moment that reflected unity and patriotism.
It was truly a fun-filled and memorable day for both the staff and the students, filled with excitement, camaraderie, and school spirit.
Preethi served as the master of ceremonies for the event. Roopika delivered the welcome address, while Latha presented the vote of thanks. Dr Ravi Rao, principal Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Dr Jacintha Meena D’Souza, vice principal, Karnataka Ayurveda Medical College, Lolita D’Souza, principal SCS Nursing College, Dr Rajaram, principal SCS PU College, Helen Lobo, principal SCS Riverside International Academy, were present at the inaugural ceremony.
