Udupi, Dec 6: The Karnataka government has officially ordered an investigation under Section 64 into the alleged financial irregularities at the private bank in Udupi, said the victims demanding for a forensic analysis of the signatures.

Nagendra Puttran, addressing media in the press conference held on December 6, said, “On October 14, we, along with Prasad Kulal and other victims, met with the cooperative minister at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. We presented evidence of fraudulent activities in a private bank, where loans were allegedly issued using forged documents and benami accounts for personal misuse. We appealed for a comprehensive inquiry, which has now been granted under Section 64 of the Karnataka Cooperative Societies Act, 1959.

“Despite our pursuit of justice, there have been attempts to suppress the movement through unethical means. Efforts are being made to conceal the truth and discourage us from continuing our fight. However, this government-ordered investigation has brought hope for justice and accountability," Nagendra added.

Nagendra stated, “They are trying to silence our mouths, we are fighting on the basis of truth and religion, and to stop the fight here, and to cover up the truth. The victims have requested for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into the matter, particularly in light of the suspicious circumstances surrounding the suicide of Subbanna."

The press conference was attended by Kukkehalli gram panchayat member Naveen Salian, Prasad Kula, Deepak Shenoy and others.
