Puttur: MP Kateel Decries Police Highhandedness in Sullia Incident

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Dec 24: Dakshina Kannada MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has blamed the three police sub-inspectors (SI), who allegedly committed atrocities on BJP leaders and activists at Sullia police station recently, of working at the behest of anti-Hindu forces. He said he has urged the state Chief Minister and home minister to order special departmental inquiry against the guilty.

Addressing the reporters here on Friday December 23, Kateel identified Kadaba SI, Paulpriya Kumar, Puttur rural SI, Anand, and Sullia SI, Ravikumar, who has since been transferred to the police station here. He said the brutality of these police officers has laid bare the fact that they were hand in glove with anti-Hindu mafia.  He said he will request the ministers concerned to relieve these sub-inspectors from executive positions and post them for non-official duties, as they have behaved like miscreants while in uniform.

While welcoming the inquiry under the leadership of additional director general of police, Bipin Gopalakrishna, relating to the incident, he asked the concerned to find out the forces which had worked behind the scenes and made the police officers to commit excesses against BJP leaders and activists.
