High level panel on industrial projects clears 10 proposals with investment of Rs 9,823 crore

Bengaluru, Dec 23: The high-level committee on industrial projects, which held its meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru at the Chief Minister’s Home Office of Krishna on Monday, has approved as many as 10 industrial projects with total investment of Rs 9,823 crore.

Apart from the Chief Minister, Large and Medium Industry Minister M B Patil, IT/BT and Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge and other senior officials, attended the meeting.

Among the proposals is, Rs 3,325 crore investment proposal in the semi-conductor sector was cleared in Kochanahalli Electronics Manufacturing Cluster.

The meeting decided to examine a proposal for ensuring a share in the profits of Sugar Manufacturing Companies in the by-products to the farmers as is being done in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Another major decision was to ensure that the penalty must be strictly imposed on companies if they do not start the undertakings in lands obtained from KIADB.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to ensure that the industries functioned strictly in accordance with the prescribed laws and norms as compliance has to be ensured.
