Bantwal: 500 Beneficiaries Receive Free Spectacles

Bantwal, Dec 28: “People in the society gain everything in their life while one gets mental peace provided he or she returns their mite to society,” said ZP former president Mamata S Gatti.

Gatti was speaking when distributing free spectacles to beneficiaries during a function held at Sumangala Kalyan Mantap, Panemangalore, on Tuesday December 26.  The spectacles were distributed under the aegis of taluk Ganigara Seva Sangh and Narikombu Nagarika Jagruta Samiti.
Taluk Ganigara Seva Sangh president M Venkappa Sapalya presided over the programme.

K Krishna Kumar Poonja, trustee, Sevanjali Foundation, Farangipet, said that of 650 camp participants, 62 people were recommended for surgery.  Free eye surgery was performed on over 40 people.  He added that 500 people received free spectacles during this programme.

The taluk steering committee president Madhav S mave, local gram panchayat president Anand Salian conveyed best wishes for the programme.
Mangalore Shekha Opticals proprietor Sanjyoti Sheka, town council steering committee president Vasanti Gangadhar, Ganiga Sangh former chief secretary Umesh Bolantoor, gram panchayat members Krishnappa Nati, Vishvanat Kodange, Gregory Baptist, and Laxman Poojary were present on the occasion.

Ganiga Sangh chief secretary S A Vishvanath welcomed the gathering.  Joint secretary Balakrishna Serkala proposed the vote of thanks.  Sumangala Credit Society director Mohan K Sriyan compered the programme.
