Moodbidri, Jan 8: Life is unpredictable. At times it brings sudden joy, while at other times, it ushers in sorrow. Marvin Noronha, a 26-year-old youth from Moodbidri, was born into a family that valued hard work and reputation. His parents ensured he received a decent education, but due to family commitments, he was unable to pursue higher studies. Eventually, he took up work at a tire repair shop near Moodbidri to support his family.
Two years ago, Marvin's life took an unexpected turn when he began feeling unwell. Initial medical tests revealed kidney stones, and while the stones were removed, his condition did not improve. Further tests revealed a shocking diagnosis: one of his kidneys had stopped functioning entirely. This news came as a huge blow to Marvin, and he was forced to undergo dialysis twice a week. His health condition had severe consequences on his family, with his sister forced to abandon her education and take up a job abroad to support the family.
When the option of a kidney transplant was considered, Marvin’s father, Henry Noronha, selflessly volunteered to donate one of his kidneys. However, the cost of the transplant procedure is estimated to reach approximately Rs 12 lac, a sum that is currently beyond the family’s financial means. Given their present financial situation, it has become extremely difficult to raise such a significant amount.
In this desperate situation, Marvin is turning to the public for help. He is seeking the kindness and generosity of individuals who may be able to contribute towards the life-saving surgery. Any financial assistance, no matter how small, will go a long way in giving Marvin a second chance at life.
