Goa, Jan 10: In an inspiring move toward sustainability and social impact, IHCL Goa Resorts has joined hands with Bisleri International for the innovative ‘Bench of Dreams’ project. This collaboration combines IHCL’s commitment to responsible tourism through its Paathya framework with Bisleri’s expertise in plastic recycling, paving the way for a greener future and meaningful community engagement.
Transforming plastic waste into purpose
The ‘Bench of Dreams’ initiative is a creative recycling endeavor where benches, crafted entirely from recycled plastic bottle caps, are installed at Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa and Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa. These benches not only provide functional seating but also symbolize environmental responsibility and collective action toward sustainability.
"This initiative is a testament to IHCL’s unwavering dedication to sustainability through our Paathya programme,” said Ranjit Phillipose, Senior Vice President - Operations, Goa. “By collaborating with Bisleri International, we are turning the challenge of plastic waste into an opportunity for innovation and impact, inspiring everyone to play a role in building a sustainable future."
Art Meets Sustainability
Adding a creative dimension, the benches are adorned with stunning artwork painted by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA), enhancing their aesthetic appeal while showcasing the power of inclusivity and talent. The result is a functional piece of art that captures the essence of hope, responsibility, and progress.
A Shared Vision
Angelo George, CEO of Bisleri International, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: "The ‘Bench of Dreams’ project is a shining example of how circular economy practices can foster sustainable development. Together with IHCL, we aim to inspire individuals, guests, and communities to think differently about waste management and embrace a greener lifestyle."
Building Awareness and Driving Change
Strategically placed in prominent locations within the resorts, these benches not only enhance guest experiences but also act as a medium to promote awareness about recycling and environmental conservation among visitors and staff.
The collaboration between IHCL and Bisleri International reflects a shared vision of creating a world where sustainability is seamlessly woven into daily life. The ‘Bench of Dreams’ is not just a bench—it is a call to action, a reminder that collective efforts can lead to transformative change.
As IHCL Goa Resorts and Bisleri International continue their journey toward environmental stewardship, they invite everyone to join hands in creating a brighter, greener future—one recycled bench at a time.
