New Delhi, Jan 10: In a landmark initiative under the National Clean Ganga Mission, Mahakumbh 2025 will witness the installation of over 28,000 toilets and the implementation of several cutting-edge cleanliness management systems, at a total cost of Rs 152.37 crore. This move, spearheaded by the Jal Shakti Ministry, blends modern technology with traditional practices, ensuring a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment for the grand event.
The primary focus is on maintaining the purity of the sacred Ganga, effective waste management, and creating plastic-free zones, making Mahakumbh 2025 a benchmark for environmental responsibility.
Among the key features of the cleanliness drive are 12,000 Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) toilets equipped with septic tanks and 16,100 prefabricated steel toilets with soak pits, designed to promote eco-friendly practices. Additionally, over 20,000 community urinals and 37.75 lakh liner bags have been distributed to enhance hygiene and waste management across the event grounds.
In a bid to streamline waste disposal, 20,000 trash bins have been placed at various locations to encourage waste segregation, recycling, and reuse.
The government's focus on sustainability and cleanliness during Mahakumbh 2025 will not only ensure a better experience for devotees but also raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. With these initiatives, Mahakumbh 2025 is set to be more than just a religious gathering—it will be a living example of eco-consciousness and environmental stewardship for generations to come.
