Mangalore: DC Channappa Gowda Inaugurates 'Physio week 2012'

Mangalore, Jan 7: The 'Physio week 2012' was inaugurated by Dr N S Channappa Gowda, IAS, deputy commissioner at Government Wenlock Hospital here on Saturday January 7.

As a part of the event he also inagurated a Blood Donation Camp at 9.30 am.


Appreciating the efforts for the noble cause he highlighted the importance of blood donation and appealed to prevent commercialization of this precious gift from one human to other in need. 

The event was presided over by district medical officer of Govt Wenlock Hospital, Dr G M Sangameshwara. He advised measures for the judicious use of blood and tips of storage of the same.

Emphasizing the need of providing cash free blood to B P L card holders, were  Dr M Ramgopal Shetty, secretary, Dr M V Shetty Memorial Trust Colleges, Mangalore appreciated the stepping forward of budding  physios and donating 1061st unit of blood and more.

The chief guest for the event Dr Shivacharan Shetty, director, Namma TV graced the event. Ln Famida Ibrahim, region chairperson, Lion Club, Mangalore along with Dr Zulfikaar Ahemed, blood bank officer, Govt District Wenlock Hospital were the guests of honour.

The 13th annual blood donation camp was a huge success in promoting awareness with more then 25 girls and 40 boys donating blood.

Blood Donors will have a lucky draw during 8th All India Physiotherapy  Conference which will be held on January 11 and the lucky donor will be awarded with a watch.
