Major fire at Mumbai’s Fairmont Hotel near Airport, no casualties reported

Mumbai, Feb 22: A major fire broke out at Fairmont Hotel near Mumbai International Airport this afternoon, triggering panic in the area. Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and are battling to bring the flames under control.

According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have started in the hotel’s kitchen, possibly due to a short circuit. Thick smoke quickly spread to other sections of the five-star hotel, which is located adjacent to JW Marriott. As a precautionary measure, all guests and staff were evacuated, and no casualties have been reported so far.

Eight to ten fire engines have been deployed, and officers from Sahar Police Station are overseeing the rescue operation. While the exact cause is still under investigation, the incident has created a tense atmosphere, with heavy smoke visible in the vicinity. Efforts are ongoing to completely douse the fire.
