Mangaluru, Mar 21: Srinivas University, Institute of Port, Shipping, and Logistics Management (IPSLM), in collaboration with the European International University - Paris, France, and Mareef University of Applied Sciences, Sarmada, Syria, successfully organized the International Conference on Innovation in Technology and Management (ICITM 2025) on March 20 at the Srinivas University City Campus, Pandeshwara.
The inaugural session of the conference was presided over by honourable chancellor of Srinivas University and president, A Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore and chief patron, ICITM 2025 Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, who, in his presidential address, emphasized the significance of technological and managerial innovations in fostering global economic and industrial growth. He highlighted the theme of the conference, stressing its relevance in today’s rapidly evolving world. He also mentioned that the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) has been a crucial driver in Mangalore’s development through its continuous technical advancements, further strengthening the region’s economic and industrial progress.
















The event was graced by distinguished guests, including honourable pro-chancellor of Srinivas University & vice president, A Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore and chief patron, ICITM 2025 Dr A Srinivas Rao, who highlighted the importance of academic-industry collaboration in advancing research and innovation. He stated, "It is a highly competitive world full of constant changes, and innovation in technology always play a crucial role. This makes the theme of this conference highly relevant.
Ramit Chennithala, deputy commissioner of income tax, Mangalore and keynote speaker of ICITM 2025 spoke on the value of knowledge-sharing in such conferences. He stated, we will gain immense knowledge from this session, and will learn a lot about the latest innovations and advancements in technology and management. Platforms like ICITM 2025 enable professionals and researchers to exchange ideas, collaborate, and drive future advancements in the industry. He also advised students to update their knowledge of Taxation policy in shipping industry.
Pramod Kumar Dash, senior deputy traffic manager, New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), Mangalore and keynote speaker of ICITM 2025 shed light on the role of innovation in port and shipping logistics. Indian ports are undergoing a major transformation, integrating cutting-edge technology and automation for myriad initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, global competitiveness and sustainability. This session will provide insights into the actual state of mechanization and automation initiatives being undertaken in major ports, highlighting the role of Al, Iot, and other technologies in optimizing various aspects of handling, real-time tracking, and decision-making, along with sustainability efforts such as renewable energy adoption, shore power supply, and circular economy practices.
Dr Mahadi Alkol, president, AI Maaref University of applied sciences, Syria spoke on topics related to the conference, emphasizing the need for global collaboration in research and the role of innovative technologies in transforming business and management practices.
The conference commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr Sonia Noronha, dean, IPSLM and general chair of ICITM 2025 followed by an introduction to the conference by Prof Ashwini K, convenor, ICITM 2025. The organizing chair ICITM 2025, Dr P K Paul, who also serves as the executive director (MCIS programme), assistant professor in the department of CIS at Raiganj University, India, and DAYIPF (Azteca University, Mexico), presented the conference report.
A significant highlight of the event was the release of the conference souvenir in the presence of Prof Er Mitra S Rao (Srinivas University board of governors member), Dr Satyanarayana Reddy (vice chancellor, Srinivas University), and Dr Ajay Kumar (development registrar, Srinivas University), Dr Praveen B M research director Srinivas University Mangalore and programme chair ICITM 2025, Dr Shailashree V T, research co – ordinator, IMC, Srinivas University Mangalore and programme chair ICITM 2025, Dr Venkatesh Amin, dean Institute of management & commerce, Dr Trishala Noronha, dean Institute of physiotherapy, Prof Prashanth Prabhu, dean Institute of hotel management and tourism were present.
Eminent academicians from international institutions also addressed the gathering virtually, including Prof Edward Roy Krishnan, director general, European International University, Paris, France Dr Mustafa Kayyali, Manager (QA & A), Maaref University of applied sciences, Syria and Dr Saumendra Das, head of the school of management studies, GIET University, Gunupur. Their insights on global innovation trends and emerging research in technology and management added immense value to the discussions.
The conference concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof Nelson Pereira, assistant professor, IPSLM, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for making ICITM 2025 a grand success.
Conference was followed by five online tracks with 114 presenters from 6 countries such as Germany, Syria, Bangladesh, Japan, Myanmar and India. Participants from Syria witnessed live online presentation. The event served as a pivotal platform for scholars, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and foster collaborations, reinforcing Srinivas University’s commitment to academic excellence and research-driven innovation.
