Mangaluru, Mar 22: The International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (ICAIH 2025) was successfully held on March 20-21 at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), AIMIT Campus, Beeri, in association with Springer and organized by the School of Information Science and Technology.
The conference was inaugurated by chief guest Prof Tad Gonsalves, professor, Sophia University, Tokyo, alongside guest of honor Dr Ronald Nazareth, registrar, and presided over by Dr (Fr) Kiran Cotha SJ, director, AIMIT. The event commenced with a prayer by the college choir, followed by a welcome address by Dr Hemalatha N, convenor and dean, School of Information Science and Technology. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp symbolized knowledge and progress.









Prof Tad Gonsalves emphasized the ethical deployment of AI in healthcare, while Dr (Fr) Kiran Cotha SJ highlighted AI’s role in early disease detection. Dr Ronald Nazareth stressed the need for collaboration between AI researchers and medical professionals. The conference proceedings were officially released by Dr Santhosh B and other dignitaries. Dr Shreekumar T, conference chair, acknowledged the contributions of key organizers and encouraged active participation. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Rakesh Kumar, co-convenor.
Prof Tad Gonsalves (Sophia University, Tokyo) spoke on AI autonomy and responsible AI training.
Dr Sudhir Prabhu H (Fr Mullers Medical College) addressed AI’s role in overcoming healthcare challenges, including data reliability and ethical considerations.
Dr Damodar Reddy Edla (NIT Goa) explored Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) in healthcare.
Dr Ludwig Simone (North Dakota State University) discussed AI-driven optimization in cancer genomics and feature selection using Guided Particle Swarm Optimization (GPSO).
Dr Shreekumar (Mangalore Institute of Technology & Engineering) highlighted the integration of traditional Indian knowledge systems with AI in healthcare.
The hybrid-mode conference featured 65 research paper presentations across various tracks, with three best paper awards presented in offline sessions.
The conference was convened by Dr Hemalatha N and Dr Rakesh Kumar, with seamless coordination from faculty and organizers. The programme was hosted by Suchetha V, assistant professor, School of Information Science and Technology.
ICAIH 2025 showcased the transformative potential of AI in healthcare, fostering collaboration between researchers and practitioners for responsible AI-driven healthcare advancements.
