Sanaa, Apr 20: At least three people were killed and four others injured in fresh US airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, its outskirts, and several other provinces, according to local reports.

The US military launched 21 airstrikes targeting various locations in Sanaa, including the Al-Nahda neighborhood in northern Sanaa, where two people were killed and two others wounded. A third victim was reported wounded in a cemetery in the Safiah neighborhood in southern Sanaa, as per Houthi-run al-Masirah TV.

In the western outskirts of Sanaa, in the Bani Matar district, one person was killed and another injured in the airstrikes. However, the report did not specify whether the victims were civilians or Houthi fighters.

The strikes also targeted military sites, including weapons depots in the Al-Hafa military camp in Mount Nuqum in eastern Sanaa, and two other military sites in northeastern parts of the capital. Residents reported hearing the sound of fighter jets overhead before and after the strikes. Ambulances were seen rushing to the targeted areas, with the Houthi-controlled police cordoning off the sites.

Additionally, 13 airstrikes hit the Houthi-controlled Hodeidah Airport and the Navy Base in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, western Yemen. Another four airstrikes targeted Houthi positions in Sirwah, west of Marib, and four more hit military positions in Harf Sufian in the northern province of Amran.

These airstrikes follow a deadly attack two days earlier on the Ras Isa fuel port in Hodeidah, where at least 80 people were killed and 150 others wounded, according to local health authorities.

The continuing airstrikes come amid ongoing tensions and military actions in Yemen’s civil conflict, which has led to numerous casualties and extensive destruction.
