Mangalore: Kashi Mutt Swamiji Digvijaya Mahotsava on Sunday

Mangalore, Jan 20: On the occasion of the renovation of Lord Venkataramana Temple at Car street here, and the  re-consecration of the idol of the presiding deity and family deities, the Digvijaya Mahotsava (procession) of Sri Samyameendra Swamiji, Patta Shishya of Kashi Mutt spiritual head, Sri Sudheendrateertha Swamiji, will be held on Sunday January 22 evening. The programme has been planned with the blessings of Sri Sudheendrateertha Swamiji, a release from the temple said.

The procession will begin from temple premises at 6.30 pm on Sunday and move through Mahamaya Temple Road, Dongerkeri, New Chitra Talkies, Chamara Galli, and Lower Car Street, before culminating at the temple.

The temple management has requested the people residing and having business premises on the route of the procession to decorate the route with green festoons and colourful lights. It said those living on the procession route can offer fruits, flowers etc to the Swmiji, perform Aarati to him, and receive his Prasadam and blessings. It added that arrangements have also been made for the devotees to receive Prasadam from the Swamiji near Dongerkeri Katte during the procession.
