Chicago tech executive dies after 20-story fall, family demands justice

Daijiworld Media Network - Chicago

Chicago, May 20: A 36-year-old Chicago-based tech executive, Caitlin Tracey, died from multiple injuries after falling 20 stories down a stairwell in her luxury high-rise home, but the medical examiner has ruled the cause of death as “undetermined.”

Tracey’s family described her body as “pulverized” and missing a foot when found last October. Despite the horrific nature of her death, no charges have been filed.

Tracey’s husband, Adam Beckerink, 46, a Chicago tax attorney, was previously charged with battering her twice in early 2024. Beckerink was dismissed from his law firm after domestic abuse allegations emerged. He filed the missing persons report before her body was discovered and was questioned but released without charges.

The family continues to seek justice amid a legal battle with Beckerink over custody of Tracey’s remains. Prior to their six-month marriage, police responded to domestic abuse calls involving Tracey and Beckerink. She had secured a protective order in late 2023 but dropped it months later, allegedly due to Beckerink’s threats.

The case remains under scrutiny as Tracey’s family pushes for answers.
