Washington, May 21: In a blistering tirade on Truth Social, US President Donald Trump launched an extraordinary attack on his predecessor Joe Biden, accusing his administration of committing “treason at the highest level” by implementing what he described as a reckless open borders policy.

In the strongly worded post, Trump claimed that Biden was “cognitively impaired” during his presidency and that unelected handlers, using an autopen, orchestrated a nationwide security crisis by allowing criminals, drug traffickers, and mentally unstable individuals into the country without vetting.

“Joe Biden was not for Open Borders... It was the people that knew he was cognitively impaired, and that took over the Autopen. They stole the Presidency... This is TREASON at the Highest Level!” Trump wrote.

The former President alleged that the policy cost the US hundreds of billions of dollars and placed the country in grave danger, insisting it was a “deliberate attempt to destroy America.”

Trump, who has recently resumed active campaigning despite a reported cancer diagnosis, warned of severe consequences for what he called “treasonous thugs” behind the policy. He asserted that only his return to leadership halted the so-called destruction.

“They did it to destroy our Country... Something very severe should happen to these Treasonous Thugs... but couldn’t, because I came along,” he declared, reiterating his campaign rallying cry — “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s comments coincide with revelations from an upcoming book “Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson. The book alleges that Biden’s aides, concerned about his mobility and health, made behind-the-scenes adjustments to prevent public concern, including modifying his walking routes and even contemplating wheelchair use in a potential second term.

The book also claims Biden's inner circle deliberately downplayed his physical limitations during the re-election campaign due to political optics.

In his social media rant, Trump also called on the Central Intelligence Agency to get involved, claiming that national security was under threat. He said that while the Biden administration was “busy attacking” him, the country’s internal structures were “breaking down.”

With the 2024 presidential election in the rearview and Trump’s surprise second-term return, political rhetoric in the United States continues to escalate. The former president has frequently targeted the Biden administration over immigration and national security, but Tuesday’s post marked one of his most explosive statements yet — complete with accusations of fraud, cognitive decline, and treason.

As both sides of the political spectrum prepare for what appears to be another polarising term, the country remains divided — with fiery speeches and strong accusations already setting the tone for what’s to come.
