Mangalore: Theft - Family in Kuttar Loses Two Lac Rupees

Mangalore, Jan 25: Unknown thieves who entered a house in Madani Nagar, Kuttar near Ullal late night on Monday January 23, took away gold ornaments and cash, totally amounting to about two lac rupees. The family of Mohammed Hassan alias Chaibavu in Madani Nagar lost 12.5 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 5,000 in cash, it is learnt.

The thieves entered the said home by carving out a big hole in the rear door of the house. They first went to the first floor, but did not get anything. Then they came down, searched the bedroom of the house owner, and found a bunch of keys in the pocket of the pants hung there. Using the keys, they opened the steel almirah, and took away gold ornaments and cash.

The thieves then searched the kitchen, and after failing to find anything valuable there, went back from the rear door.

Inspector of Ullal police station, Manjunath Shetty, Shyam Sundar of crime intelligence bureau, sniffer dogs, and finger print experts, visited the spot. A case was registered.
