Udupi: MP Capt Brijesh Chowta visits MAHE-Manipal, lauds its educational legacy and impact

Udupi, Jun 14: Capt Brijesh Chowta, member of parliament (Lok Sabha) from Dakshina Kannada, visited the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal today.

During the visit, Capt Chowta interacted with MAHE’s leadership team and students. Recognizing MAHE’s role as catalyst for making coastal Karnataka an education and healthcare hub since the 1950’s, Capt Chowta said, “MAHE is a pride of our region, and its work in education and healthcare is inspiring. We are committed to working together to ensure our youth have access to world- class opportunities.”

Dr H S Ballal, pro chancellor, MAHE, said, “We are honored by the visit of Capt Brijesh Chowta. His inspiring words and keen interest in the work being done at MAHE will further motivate our students and researchers to pursue excellence with greater zeal.”

LT Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh VSM (Retd), vice chancellor, MAHE, also remarked, “Capt Chowta’s insights and appreciation reaffirm MAHE’s role as a beacon of academic and research excellency in the country.”

Pro vice chancellors Dr Sharath Rao and Dr Dilip Naik, Dr Raviraja N S, chief operation officer of MAHE, Dr Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer- teaching hospitals of MAHE, Dr P Giridhar Kini, registrar, Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal were present on the occasion.
