Mangaluru, Jun 16: Podar International School, in collaboration with Podar Innovation Centre, Mumbai, organized a powerful and insightful teacher training workshop titled ‘Educator’s Toolbox: designing, managing, and inspiring the future classroom.’ The session was conducted by Dr Yamini Salian, a distinguished educationist and senior resource person from the Podar Innovation Centre team.
The day-long training saw enthusiastic participation from educators of Podar International Schools in both Mangaluru and Udupi, with a shared goal of enhancing classroom effectiveness and reimagining learning in today’s evolving educational landscape.


















The training commenced with a graceful inaugural dance performance, followed by a felicitation ceremony to welcome the esteemed resource person. An engaging ice-breaking session helped the participating teachers connect and build a collaborative mindset.
In her sessions, Dr Yamini Salian addressed the pressing realities of current-day classrooms particularly reduced attention spans among students, the rise of inclusive education, and the diversity of learning needs in a democratic, student-centred classroom. She stressed the importance of adapting teaching styles to meet varied learner profiles, encouraging teachers to recognize and support the core competencies and strengths of each child.
Key focus areas of the workshop included:
Design thinking in education – helping educators craft student-centric and innovation-led learning experiences.
Time and classroom management – strategies to maintain an engaging and well-paced learning environment.
Contemporary pedagogical methodologies – ranging from collaborative learning to technology-integrated instruction.
The training also highlighted methods to ensure that expected learning outcomes (ELOs) are not only met but tailored to suit different levels of learners through differentiated instruction.
The presence of school heads from Podar Mangaluru and Udupi added further value to the event, as they encouraged teachers to internalize the learnings and apply them meaningfully in their teaching practices.
Teachers actively participated in hands-on activities, reflective discussions, and case-based simulations. Many shared that the session gave them newfound confidence and a revitalized perspective on how to navigate the dynamic nature of modern classrooms.
As the new academic session unfolds, the training has left educators feeling empowered, equipped, and inspired ready to shape classrooms that are inclusive, engaging, and deeply impactful.
