Mangaluru, Jun 16: The resplendent celebration unfolded in St Agnes CBSE School’s prestigious hall, which recently buzzed with palpable excitement as the institution proudly inaugurated the opening day of its two-day Merit Day festivities, aptly themed ‘Shine Loud and Stand Proud.’
Held on June 11 and 13, with day one for grades 5 to 10 and day two for grades 1 to 4, this significant event served as a grand felicitation of students who exemplified exceptional academic prowess and unwavering dedication throughout the academic year 2024–2025.
The ceremony commenced with a dignified symbolic welcome to the esteemed chief guests. Sr Janet Sequeria, vice principal at St Agnes PU College, received the Writer’s Cradle a crystal pen stand representing her intellect, discipline, and precise guidance.
In a similar spirit, Sr Linet Dsouza, distinguished Mathematics professor at St Agnes College, was honoured with the torch of guidance, symbolising her steadfast leadership and inspiring role in education.
































































































Building on this spirit of grace and inspiration, the programme unfolded with a soulful prayer dance, infusing the morning with serenity and reflection.
The welcome address delivered by Tr Josephine and Tr Shanti set a congenial tone for the celebrations, during which a potted plant was symbolically offered as part of the welcome. A skit on the Importance of Education offered a powerful reminder that learning is the cornerstone of progress and empowerment. As the dignitaries were escorted to the stage amidst warm applause, the ceremony transitioned to its highlight the honouring of meritorious students.
With pride and admiration, bright young achievers were felicitated with gleaming trophies and certificates, celebrating their outstanding accomplishments across various academic distinctions.
The trophies, adorned with three prominent stars at their summit, symbolised academic excellence, holistic growth, and the brilliance of consistent effort. Honours were conferred upon students for exceptional overall performance, including an aggregate of 85% and above, subject-specific excellence, and impeccable attendance.
The merit list was announced by Tr Neesha and Tr Reena, following which the accolades were presented by the distinguished chief guests, Sr Janet Sequeria and Sr Linet D’Souza, alongside principal Sr Maria Sarika and vice principal Sr Meena Fernandes.
Following the distribution of awards, the chief guests delivered eloquent and inspiring addresses. Sr Janet Sequeira shared a parable of ‘two seeds’-emphasizing the power of attitude alongside the three Cs: the values of curiosity, courage, and courtesy. Sr Linet D’Souza lauded the students’ academic excellence and highlighted the role of discipline, dedication, and focus in achieving true success.
The smooth execution of the two-day programme was anchored by warm welcomes and expressions of gratitude. The votes of thanks were delivered by Elma and Tr Philomena, while compering was carried out by Meghan and Amruth alongside Tr Shanti Noronha ensuring clarity and cohesion throughout.
As the celebration drew to a close, it left behind not just a gallery of achievers but a quiet inspiration etched in every heart. The accomplishments on display quietly affirmed the value of ‘perseverance’ one of the ten virtues envisioned in St Agnes CBSE School’s ‘Goal Tree’ initiative, introduced at the beginning of the academic year.
