Man arrested for kidnapping and raping 16-year-old girl on train journey

Thane, Jul 8: A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl from Adivali, Dombivli, and raping her during a train journey to Akola.

The incident occurred on June 30, when the accused took the girl on a train, where he reportedly assaulted her en route.

After being denied entry into his parents' home in Akola, he abandoned her at the railway station.

The girl was later found by Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, who acted on her report of the crime.

An FIR has been registered against the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Police are currently working to apprehend the suspect.
