Sullia, Jan 31: Two persons, Charan, an inspector working for the regional transport office in Puttur, and his friend, Sridhar Padla, reportedly flew from Panja to Mangalore on Sunday January 29 morning by the helicopter meant for the state Chief Minister’s travel. After some claimed that this was unauthorized, a controversy has surfaced on the issue.

State Chief Minister, D V Sadananda Gowda, was scheduled to arrive at Panja in the taluk for the Brahmakalasbhisheka programme in the local temple on Saturday evening. Facility had been provided for the landing of the helicopter at the junior college play ground there. As the programmes in which the CM participated got delayed, he could not travel to Panja by helicopter because of visibility problems. The CM therefore, arrived to Panja in car, and returned the same night to Mangalore.

However, the helicopter flew to Panja for refilling of its petrol tank, as the vehicle loaded with its fuel had arrived at Panja. As it was dusk, the helicopter could not go back. On Sunday morning, the helicopter flew to Mangalore with two persons as stated above aboard, although no one is sure whether they were authorized to do so.

HERE MAIN issue is "WHY Brahmakalasbhisheka programme attended by CM with govts money/helicopter Rather than some people sat in helicopter when it is going empty. ALWAYS everyone think small thieves only IF ANY HIGH PROFILE people attending these type of programmes we need think how TAXPAYERS money they can use for it?

Whether 'proper use' and 'mis use'is defined any where?State government departments, officers at various leveles including police depts have been provided with thousands of vehicles for duty purpose. All such vehicles are being 'mis used' as per the version of above news. There is no control.Who cares? This is way of life!!!In my view more than 75% of states revenue is 'mis used'.

    Dear Dr

No offence meant at all. Humour spices up one's life ,you will agree. Here the question was of a 'free ride' and whether the person's concerned were authorised-That's it. It's after all a burden on the 'State Exchequer'. Regards.

It is common that government officials are misusing their power and wasting public money. It maybe a car, a helicopter or a plane but they should be used for the right purpose and for the right people.

There are many countries in Europe where the politicians use common mans transport like trains. In Denmark and Holland the queens use even bicycles to go and say hello to common people. Only in India we can afford helicopters and other first class travel to politicians including the disgraced ones after they come out of jail. That is because we are a country that is used to have the kings and the people as their slaves.

This misuse of Govt. property is worst than any scam irrespective of its quantum. Dear CM, if you want to see what common man needs or going through a tough face, go along with him on D.K. roads. You will "feel the punch". Air travel is not the solution! Don't waste our tax money on the pretext of DEVELOPMENT or SOCIAL SERVICE...Its all our hard earned and honestly paid-tax money...

For temple visits & in law's house visits the CM should not use Govt Helicopter. The helicopter at CM's disposal is for emergency use to reach the development work site of the state and not for pleasure ride to temples, festivals, Sangh Parivar meets etc.

Why our government servants can not use public transport? Why they need security to work in public office? May be they are delaying most of public works.....?
