Nashik, Jul 17: In a heart-wrenching late-night tragedy, seven people lost their lives, and two others sustained serious injuries in a ghastly road accident involving a car and a motorcycle near Dindori in Nashik district.

The accident occurred late Wednesday night on the Vani-Dindori road, near a nursery, when a speeding car reportedly collided head-on with a bike. The impact was so severe that both vehicles were flung into a roadside canal, said local police officials.

Emergency services were alerted around 11:57 pm, following which police personnel and rescue teams rushed to the spot. By the time help arrived, seven victims were found dead at the scene, and two others were critically injured.

The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

A senior police officer said, “Upon reaching the spot, we found the vehicles overturned in the canal. A rescue operation was swiftly launched with help from local agencies.”

The identities of the victims are being verified, and police have begun further investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Locals in the area have raised concerns over the lack of proper lighting and safety measures on the Vani-Dindori stretch, which has witnessed several accidents in the past.

The Nashik district administration has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and assured all possible assistance.
