Koppal: Son Slays Parents, Gets Arrested

Daijiworld Media Network – Koppal (SP)

Koppal, Feb 1: Shyamid Saab Challari (52), and his wife, Raja Bi (48), were killed by their son on Tuesday January 31. They were the residents of Talakeri in Yalburga taluk in the district.

Shyamid Saab, an elected zilla panchayat member, represented Hirevankalakunta constituency. His sons, Aminuddin and Imam Hussain, have been arrested by the personnel of Bevoor police station.

Reportedly, family quarrel was the reason for the above murders. Tussle between the father and his sons had become a common happening of late. Aminuddin, who had reportedly got wild due to a verbal clash he had with his father, hit Shyamid Saab with a stick in his head, when the latter was sleeping. Shyamid died on the spot.

Raja Bi, who was shocked at this sudden development, ran to her neighbour’s home out of fear. Aminuddin chased her, and pulled at her hair before she could shut the door from behind, and dragged her to the courtyard. After that, he hit her with the same stick, causing her instant death, it is said.

On a complaint that the couple’s other son, Imam Hussain, had encouraged his brother to commit this act, he too was arrested.
