Honda teases all-new electric motorcycle ahead of Sept 2 launch

Tokyo, Aug 8: Honda is gearing up to take the wraps off its much-anticipated electric motorcycle on September 2. Ahead of the grand unveiling, the Japanese two-wheeler giant has released a teaser on its UK social media handle, offering a tantalising glimpse of the upcoming model.

While the motorcycle remains under heavy camouflage, enthusiasts have already noted its striking resemblance to the EV Fun Concept showcased at EICMA 2024. The teaser video reveals a TFT display, a sleek LED DRL setup, sharp LED turn indicators, and a short tail section, all hinting at a sporty, performance-oriented design.

On the mechanical front, the bike boasts a single-sided swingarm, USD front forks, rear monoshock suspension, and large rear disc brakes. It is expected to roll on 17-inch wheels wrapped in premium Pirelli Rosso 3 tyres. A distinctive humming sound in the teaser confirms the presence of an electric motor.

If it is indeed the production-ready version of the EV Fun Concept, the motorcycle will likely feature a fixed battery setup and performance comparable to a 500cc petrol-powered bike. Honda is expected to equip it with advanced rider aids such as traction control, ride modes, and other cutting-edge technologies.

The EV Fun Concept, as revealed earlier, was designed to deliver quiet, vibration-free rides with smooth handling and braking. It comes equipped with a CCS2 quick charging system, similar to that used in electric cars, and offers a cruising range of around 100 km – ideal for urban commuting.

With the official launch date fast approaching, Honda fans and EV enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see if the production model lives up to the hype generated by its concept predecessor.
