Mangalore, Feb 3: N S Usman (47), owner-cum-driver of a truck, who hails from Hosamajalu in Nelyady, Puttur taluk, ended his life by consuming poison. On Thursday February 2, he was found to have parked his truck near Deepak Yard in Bykampady, and committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance.
It is suspected that Usman decided to kill himself, having been unable to wriggle of the burden of huge loan liability. On the basis of a complaint lodged by the brother of the deceased, Abdul Rahiman, a case was registered in Panambur police station.
Usman had functioned as president of Jalalia Jumma Masjid in Hosamajalu, and had also been involved with social service activities through different organizations. He was liked by the people of his native village because of his decent manners and altruism.
