Modi only talks about himself, not people's issues: Shiv Sena (UBT)

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 16: Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey launched a sharp critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, accusing him of ignoring the real issues faced by common citizens while focusing only on his own agenda.

“Modi ji only speaks about his Mann Ki Baat, never about the mann ki baat of the people,” Dubey told reporters, slamming the PM for not addressing critical national concerns during his Independence Day speech.

Dubey also criticised Modi’s silence on the outcomes of key policy decisions like demonetisation and GST, alleging that the Prime Minister neither explains nor takes accountability for them.

PM’s Independence Day Speech Draws Flak

On the PM’s praise for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) during his Red Fort address, Dubey said there was no issue in acknowledging the RSS given Modi’s association with it, but stressed that such national occasions should rise above party politics.

“On August 15, the Prime Minister should deliver a message of unity, harmony, and brotherhood. When he speaks from the BJP platform, he’s a party leader — but from the Red Fort, he represents the nation,” he said.

'Achhe Din' Promises Still Unfulfilled, says Dubey

Pointing to unfulfilled promises, Dubey said that jobs, black money recovery, and action on PoK were all part of the BJP’s election pledges but have yet to materialise. On GST reforms, he added that the expected benefits have not reached the common man and only created confusion and hardship for small businesses.

Trump’s Comments on Russian Oil Criticised

Commenting on the recent Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, Dubey also took aim at US President Donald Trump, criticising his earlier remarks about pressuring India to stop buying Russian oil.

“India makes decisions based on its own national interests. We don’t interfere in other countries’ internal matters and expect the same in return,” he said.

Dubey’s remarks come amid increasing attacks from opposition parties on the BJP-led central government as key state elections and preparations for India@2047 gain momentum.
