Hyderabad, Aug 27: A shocking case of street harassment in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills has come to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The video shows three youths on a motorcycle following two young women and attempting to touch them with a peacock feather.

The situation was brought under control when a bystander, Aniketh Shetty, and his wife intervened. Shetty, who was in his car near Neeru’s signal in Jubilee Hills, rolled down his window and shouted at the bikers: “Aey, kya kar rahe ho? Kyun sata rahe ho inko?” His wife, who recorded the video, also noted down the license plate number and assured him that it would be reported to the police.

Sharing the video online, Shetty captioned: “These 3 pieces of s**t were following the girls in front of them and touching them with the peacock feather till I pulled down the window & yelled at them. Would’ve chased them further, but the car in front of me didn’t give way.” He also tagged Hyderabad Police with details of the vehicle.

Following outrage on social media, the Cyberabad Traffic Police assured strict action. Later, Madhapur Police confirmed that all three accused were identified and apprehended. “Good evening, sir. All three accused have been identified and apprehended by Madhapur Police, Cyberabad. A Suo Moto case was registered against them, and an investigation is in progress,” the official statement read.

Netizens lauded Shetty and his wife for their timely intervention. One user wrote, “You did great work. Such street predators must be dealt with strictly. Teasing and harassing women is not ‘fun’ but a crime. Stronger policing and public courage like yours are the real deterrents.”

The incident has reignited calls for stronger policing in busy areas like Jubilee Hills, especially on weekends when large crowds gather.
