Adani Electricity streamlines festive power connections for Navratri & Durga Puja Pandals in Mumbai

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 12: With the festive season approaching, Adani Electricity has announced a faster, simplified process for organisers of Navratri and Durga Puja pandals in Mumbai to obtain temporary power connections at residential rates.

Under the new initiative, pandals can get connected within 48 hours of submitting their application. Organisers can apply online by visiting the company’s website and navigating to the ‘New Connection’ section for temporary supply.

“We understand the critical need for uninterrupted power during festivities. Last year, over 647 pandals received continuous electricity. This year, we’ve enhanced operations for quicker connections and even greater reliability,” said an Adani Electricity spokesperson.

To ensure safety, the company is deploying a Quick Response Team backed by a restoration plan to swiftly address any outages during the celebrations.

Safety First: Key Guidelines for Organisers

Adani Electricity has issued a set of safety advisories to all pandals, including:

• Use only licensed electrical contractors for wiring.
• Install RCCBs (Residual Current Circuit Breakers) to safeguard devotees from electrical hazards.
• Ensure proper earthing of generators, meter cabins, and switchboards.
• Keep a fire extinguisher with trained personnel near the meter cabin.
• Use standard wires, plugs, and switches, and avoid overloading circuits.

The company strongly discouraged the use of:

• Unauthorised power extensions or direct supply
• Jointed wiring
• Obstructions near meter cabins
• Hazardous materials around electrical areas

Adani Electricity also reminded organisers to not exceed the sanctioned load and to ensure that floodlights, pedestal fans, and exposed wires are kept out of reach of the public.

Continued Support During Festivals

Earlier this year, during Ganesh Chaturthi, the company issued 950 temporary connections and installed over 2,500 floodlights across 167 idol immersion points in 15 BMC wards, showcasing its ongoing commitment to safe and joyful celebrations in Mumbai.

With streamlined services and reinforced safety measures, Adani Electricity aims to power Mumbai’s festive spirit without interruptions or risks.
