Puttur: Khateejamma Murder – Policemen Claim Breakthrough

Puttur, Feb 8: The policemen of district crime intelligence bureau are said to have achieved breakthrough in the murder case of Khateejamma, wife of Abbas from Tannirpantha village near Uppinangady. Sources said three relatives of Khateejamma, who have been taken into custody, have confessed to their crime.

The body of Khateejamma (28) had been found stuffed into a drain under the state highway between Gundia and Subrahmanya at Kombaru village on January 31. The policemen have collected information that Khateejamma was murdered on January 9 before tossing her body under the drain.

Aziz, Afsana and Aseeda have been taken into custody in this connection. Afsana is the wife of Issac, Khateejamma’s brother. Aseeda is her elder sister, while Aziz is her brother. The three visited Khateejamma in the guise of guests, and killed her for gold ornaments. After killing the woman, her body was taken to Ajjavara in an Omni vehicle. After dropping off his two sisters at home, Aziz approached the spot in his vehicle and threw the lady’s body into the drain, it is said.
