Aucland, Sep 16: Fr Basil Vas, a priest of the diocese of Mangalore, will be visiting the dioceses of Auckland and Hamilton, New Zealand, from September 21 to 29.
During his visit, he plans to celebrate Mass with the Konkani-speaking community.
Responding to the request of Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of the diocese of Mangalore, bishop Stephen M Lowe of Auckland has granted Fr Vas the faculties of the Auckland diocese for the duration of his stay.
These faculties are reciprocal across the six dioceses of New Zealand and the Military Ordinariate.
