Satara, Sep 20: A routine visit to a mobile shop turned tragic on Friday night when Akhilesh Nalawade, a young customer, died following a heated argument with a shop employee near the Karad bus station.

Police said Nalawade had gone to inquire about the camera of a phone he purchased three days earlier. At the time, staff were cleaning the shop floor. An altercation began after dirt from Nalawade’s slippers fell on the freshly mopped floor, leading to a scuffle with an employee.

During the fight, Nalawade fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Two friends rushed him to the Karad Sub-District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Authorities have taken shop employee Azim Mulla into custody as investigations continue. Police said further action will depend on the post-mortem report and the findings of the ongoing probe.
