Chandigarh, Sep 22: A heart-wrenching incident has been reported from Rewari district of Haryana, where a five-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her mother’s live-in partner in a fit of rage. Police confirmed on Sunday that the accused, identified as Roshan from Bihar, has been taken into custody and charged with murder.
According to officials, Roshan had been residing in a rented house with a married woman and her young daughter. On Wednesday, the couple quarrelled while outside the house. The woman later went towards the railway station, while Roshan returned home.

At that time, the five-year-old child was alone in the house. Missing her mother, the girl cried incessantly and pleaded with Roshan to take her to her. Irritated by her crying, the accused reportedly knocked the child to the floor in a violent outburst. The impact proved fatal, police said.
Roshan fled the scene soon after the incident. Alerted by neighbours, the police rushed to the spot, launched a search operation, and later succeeded in nabbing the accused.
The tragic case has sparked outrage in the locality, with residents condemning the brutal act. Police said further investigation is underway.
