Navi Mumbai airport, metro 3 inaugurations rescheduled in October

Mumbai, Sep 24: The inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport has been rescheduled to Oct 30, while the Metro 3 project will now be inaugurated on Oct 8, a senior official confirmed. Both projects were originally slated for inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sept 30.

It is expected that PM Modi will preside over both inaugurations. Last week, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had announced that the Prime Minister would inaugurate the final stretch of the underground Metro 3 corridor, running from Acharya Atre Chowk in Worli to Cuffe Parade, on Sept 30.

Modi was also scheduled to inaugurate the Navi Mumbai airport, a project aimed at easing congestion at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, on the same day, officials added.
