Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Feb 10: The local court remanded Abdul Aziz, main accused in the case relating to murder of Khateejamma from Tannirpantha village, to police custody as sought, till Saturday February 11, to facilitate policemen to investigate the case and put together loose links.

It may be recalled that Khateejamma was killed, her ornaments were taken away, and her body was stuffed under a drain near Kombaru. She was treated as missing, and the information that she was killed came into the open only after her body was found several days later.

At the same time, Ayesha Aseeda and Afsana, sisters of Aziz, who are accused of colluding with the main accused in killing Khateejamma and taking away her ornaments, have been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days. As Afsana has a six-month-old baby named Fatimat Saima, the court agreed to permit the mother to take the child with her to jail.
