Patna, Sep 27: Union home minister Amit Shah launched a sharp political offensive on Saturday during a high-voltage address to nearly 4,000 BJP workers from Bhagalpur, Kosi, and Seemanchal regions, setting the tone for what promises to be a fierce battle ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. With the stakes rising in one of the most politically volatile states, Shah issued a clarion call for a two-thirds NDA majority, pledging to expel infiltrators and prevent the return of what he termed “Lalu Raj” and “Jungle Raj.”
Drawing a sharp contrast between the BJP and its rivals, Shah claimed that while leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are driven by dynastic ambitions and party interests, the BJP's campaign is “a fight for the nation.” He said BJP workers don’t fight for individual constituencies but to uphold national interests — a core theme he repeatedly emphasized.

"For Lalu, the election is about making his son the CM. For Rahul, it’s just another political contest. But for us, it’s about driving out infiltrators and safeguarding the country," Shah declared, reaffirming the party’s focus on border security and illegal immigration, particularly in the sensitive Seemanchal region.
In a provocative claim aimed at polarizing the debate, Shah alleged that the Opposition wants to protect illegal infiltrators and allow them to vote, stating, “No Indian citizen’s vote has been cancelled in Kosi and Seemanchal. But infiltrators must be removed from the voter list — and from Bihar.”
Shah also took aim at corruption and misrule under previous RJD-Congress governments, warning voters against the return of lawlessness. “This election is to ensure that 'Lalu Raj' does not return, and 'Jungle Raj' does not come again,” he said, evoking memories of Bihar’s turbulent past as a warning against a change in power.
He also made a symbolic pitch for electoral momentum through a "Diwali of victories", calling it a four-step celebration:
1. The return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya
2. PM Modi transferring Rs 10,000 each to 75 lac ‘Jeevika Didis’
3. The reduction or elimination of GST on over 395 items
4. A resounding NDA victory in Bihar with over 160 seats
Shah’s speech was designed not just to galvanize BJP’s grassroots network, but also to draw a clear ideological and developmental divide between the NDA and the Opposition, particularly in areas like Kishanganj — the lone seat the BJP lost in 2020. He urged party workers to reverse that outcome and ensure a clean sweep.
Positioning the NDA under PM Narendra Modi as the vehicle of development and stability, Shah cast the upcoming elections as a binary choice: progress versus chaos, security versus infiltration, Modi’s governance versus dynastic rule.
With the Assembly elections nearing and the BJP seeking to consolidate its hold on Bihar, Amit Shah’s speech signals that nationalism, infiltration, and anti-corruption will be the dominant themes of the BJP’s campaign narrative in the weeks ahead.
