New Delhi, Oct 4: Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Saturday said that nearly 6.5 crore women were screened across India under the two-week-long ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign, which concluded on October 2. The campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.
Speaking on X, Nadda said the campaign reflects the nation’s commitment to prioritising women’s health for stronger families and thriving communities. He urged women to continue adopting regular health check-ups for a healthier future.
According to the Health Ministry, nearly 18 lakh health camps were organised across the country.
Key achievements include:
• Hypertension screening: 1.78 crore people
• Diabetes screening: 1.72 crore people
• Breast cancer: 37 lakh women
• Cervical cancer: 19 lakh women
• Oral cancer: 69 lakh people
• Antenatal check-ups: 62.6 lakh
• Children vaccinated: 1.43 crore
• Anaemia screening: 1.51 crore people
• Tuberculosis screening: 85 lakh people
• Sickle cell disease: 10.23 lakh people
• Nutrition counselling: 1.16 crore people
• Blood donors registered: 4.3 lakh
• Ayushman/PM-JAY cards issued: 10.69 lakh
The campaign marks a historic milestone in India’s efforts to strengthen women’s healthcare and ensure early detection of critical health issues.
