Lucknow, Oct 5: Lucknow witnessed a fiery exchange as Congress leader Surendra Rajput sharply criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal for ruling out any alliance with Congress in the upcoming Goa Assembly elections. Rajput didn’t hold back, accusing AAP of acting as the BJP’s “B-team” and betraying public trust through political maneuvering.
Speaking to reporters, Rajput lambasted Kejriwal, claiming he had sold out key movements like the Anna movement and India Against Corruption, and even aided RSS branches by crafting “formulas” that ultimately served BJP’s interests. He dismissed any possibility of alliance, stating bluntly, “Who will contest elections with you? We reject you. Congress will fight the Goa elections independently.”

On the Bihar elections, Rajput expressed hope for free and fair polls, echoing sentiments of Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, while warning that any shortcomings would demand accountability from the Election Commission and BJP. He criticized the Election Commission’s transparency, urging it to uphold its constitutional duties.
Rajput also took a swipe at BJP’s “Sujhaav Yatra” in Bihar, accusing the party of engaging only in rhetoric and religious divisiveness rather than genuine public outreach. He challenged BJP to explain controversies surrounding the demolition of mosques under temples.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks on the RSS in Colombia, Rajput defended the Congress MP’s boldness, contrasting it with BJP leaders whom he claimed operate under remote control, emphasizing that Gandhi speaks truthfully and fearlessly.
The escalating rhetoric highlights the fierce political battles shaping up ahead of the Goa and Bihar elections, with alliances and accusations flying thick and fast.
