Mumbai, Oct 10: The much-anticipated Mumbai One ticketing app, covering 11 public transport operators across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), went live on Thursday, with over 35,000 users downloading it on Android and iOS platforms, according to Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL), which developed the app.
By Thursday evening, more than 30,000 users had registered, though the launch was affected by several initial issues. While the app was scheduled to go live at 5:30 a.m., many users reported it was not visible on Google Play Store until 8:30 a.m. Several commuters turned to social media to share the problem, with Soumya Mohapatra posting a link on X to help others access the app.

Commuters also faced difficulties booking tickets for the newly opened Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade stretch of the Aqua Line (Metro 3). Eleven stations beyond Acharya Atre Chowk did not appear on the app until Thursday night. “Trying out the new Mumbai One app. Unable to book beyond AAC Worli Naka. Fare table displayed in Mumbai One app also incomplete,” tweeted Rajan Mathew.
An MMRDA official attributed the glitch to delays in receiving data from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), the implementing agency for the Aqua Line. “The MMRC provided us the data on the 11 additional stations at 8:30 a.m., after the last leg of Metro 3 was opened to the public. Our back-end team is working on it, and it will reflect from Friday onwards,” the official said. Users also reported long buffering times, with pages taking 20–30 seconds to load.
Sanjay Mukherjee, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, said payments on the app are enabled through BillDesk and BHIM UPI. “Commuters using BHIM UPI will get 20% cashback on tickets priced over ?20 till December,” he added.
In the coming weeks, the app will allow booking of return tickets and season passes for suburban trains. Officials also indicated that Vasai Virar Municipal Transport may be integrated into the Mumbai One app in the near future.
