Mumbai, Oct 15: In a tragic incident that has sparked outrage, a young woman originally from Pakshikere near Kinnigoli, Mangaluru taluk, lost her life after being struck by a falling cement brick from an under-construction building near Maharaja Bhavan on Caves Road, Majaswadi, Jogeshwari East, a suburb of Mumbai.
The deceased, Kumari Samskruti A Amin, succumbed to her injuries in what her family and well-wishers have called a case of gross negligence. On Wednesday, a delegation led by Harish Shetty, vice president of the BJP’s North Mumbai unit, visited the bereaved family at their residence to offer condolences and pledge support.

Joining Shetty were prominent social worker and hotelier Mahesh R Shetty Tellar and other dignitaries from Greater Mumbai.
The group paid their respects to Samskruti’s grieving parents, Anil Avin – proprietor of Kotyan Caterers – and Padmavati Avin, along with other family members.
During the emotional visit, Samskruti’s father, Anil Avin, expressed his frustration over the authorities’ inaction. “The police have not yet registered a case against the head of Shradha Life LLP, the construction company responsible. They are just offering excuses,” he told the visiting leaders.
Responding to the family’s plea, Harish Shetty and his delegation assured them that they would raise the issue with the concerned local authorities, as well as BJP MPs, MLAs, and ministers in Maharashtra. “We will do everything within our reach to ensure justice is served,” they said. “We will demand a judicial inquiry and push for strict action against the builders and owners responsible for this tragedy.”
The grieving parents were moved by the visit, stating, “We are touched by the compassion shown by Harish Shetty and his team during this painful time. May God bless them for their humanity.”
