Rescue operation underway after two people jump into Mahim Creek

Mumbai, Nov 11: A massive rescue operation was launched on Tuesday morning after two individuals jumped into Mahim Creek around 11:30 a.m., prompting a swift response from the police, fire brigade, and local fishermen.

According to officials, one of the individuals has been identified as Kalandar Altaf Khan, a resident of the Lalmatti area in Bandra. The incident came to light when a bystander witnessed the jump and immediately alerted the fire brigade control room.

Teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and Mahim Police, assisted by local fishermen, quickly reached the spot and began search and rescue efforts in the creek’s turbulent waters.

As of the time of reporting, the rescue operation was still ongoing, with divers and rescue boats scouring the area to locate the individuals.

Authorities have yet to determine the circumstances that led to the incident. Further details are awaited.
