Mangaluru, Nov 24: Mount Carmel Central School organised a half-day career guidance programme on Saturday, November 22, for the students and parents of grade X. The event began with a soulful prayer song led by the students, inviting the gathering to lift their hearts and minds to the Almighty.

Tr Priyanka warmly welcomed the resource person, Dr Ananth Prabhu G, along with the parents and students. The administrator, Sr Carissima, extended a gracious welcome by presenting a bouquet to the keynote speaker.

Renowned speaker Dr Ananth Prabhu G shed light on the rapid advancements shaping the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology. He discussed the benefits and challenges of technological growth and its impact on human thinking and creativity. He further guided the students on the various academic streams available after grade X, emphasising the importance of choosing a path that aligns with one’s strengths and aspirations.

Following his insightful session, Tr Vidya Rai gave a detailed briefing on CBSE’s new policy of conducting two board examinations from this academic year. She explained the structure, purpose, and benefits of the new system, offering practical guidelines on how students can plan their studies, reduce stress, and optimise performance. She also emphasised the importance of consistency, time management, and regular revision to approach the board exams with clarity and confidence.

Dr Suman Lasrado then addressed the gathering, elaborating on the diverse courses offered at Mount Carmel Central School for grades XI and XII in Science stream. He highlighted how the school’s holistic learning environment, qualified faculty, and well-structured CBSE curriculum equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in higher education, competitive exams, and future career pathways. He encouraged students to identify their interests early and make informed, goal-oriented decisions.

Representing Aakash Coaching Institute, Shyamprasad shared valuable insights into the additional academic support available for students preparing for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE and other entrance tests. He outlined how systematic coaching, rigorous practice, and expert guidance can significantly enhance students’ readiness and confidence, and explained how these programmes complement school learning to help students achieve their academic aspirations.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Tr Shanshwati, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event.
