Buldhana, Nov 28: As election activity picks up across the state, a tragic incident has shaken Mera Budruk village in Buldhana district, where a young farmer lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on November 26.
The deceased, 35-year-old Balu Samadhan Paithane, owned two tractors and had been working tirelessly due to the heavy rush of agricultural tasks during the season. On the evening of November 26, he left for Sakharakheda to fetch diesel for his tractors. He carried two 40-litre cans on his motorcycle, filled them with fuel, and began returning to Mera Budruk.

While travelling between Shindi and Mera Budruk, near the Kharat family's cowshed, an unidentified vehicle reportedly rammed into his motorcycle with great force. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The incident has cast a pall of grief over Mera Budruk. Villagers said farmers are already under immense pressure due to time constraints, the winter’s early sunset and the rush of agricultural work.
