Youth sprint ahead: Massive turnout at Ryan Minithon 2025–26

Mumbai, Dec 1: The Ryan Minithon 2025–26 (Mumbai Edition), one of India’s largest and most eagerly awaited minithons for school students, was successfully held on November 30. Organised by the Ryan Sports Club, the annual event brought together nearly 9,000 enthusiastic young runners from 35 schools across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane.

Marking the 220th race in the 26-year journey of the Ryan Minithon, this year’s Mumbai edition was hosted at St Lawrence High School, Borivali. The event saw spirited participation from students in the U-12, U-14, and U-16 categories, who competed in 2-km, 3-km, and 4-km runs respectively.

The race was flagged off by Sonal Pinto, director, Ryan Group of Schools, along with distinguished guests. The atmosphere was electric as students, dressed smartly in their PT uniforms, ran with great enthusiasm and competed for the coveted prizes.

Since its inception in 1998, the Ryan International Group of Institutions under the visionary leadership of founder-chairman Dr A F Pinto and managing director Dr Grace Pinto has been conducting the Minithon across 12 cities in India. Over the years, the event has grown into one of the country’s largest road-race series for schoolchildren, with a cumulative participation of more than 9.5 lac students across 220 successfully conducted races.

The event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, where winners from various age groups were felicitated by Sonal Pinto, alongside several celebrated sports personalities of national and international repute.

A vibrant cultural programme featuring dance and musical performances added colour to the celebration. A symbolic plantation of saplings on the school premises a cherished tradition of the Ryan Group was carried out by the guests prior to the flag-off ceremony.

The Ryan Minithon 2025–26 (Mumbai Edition) once again stood as a testament to the Ryan Group’s commitment to promoting fitness, sportsmanship, and holistic education across the country.

First place: St Xavier’s High School, Goregaon
First runner-up: St Lawrence High School, Borivali
